Participation and Skills Support Officer,
Rochdale Borough Council
Toni has been a part of the Early Help and Schools sector for close to 6 years with the last 3 years covering the Raising Participation agenda across the whole of the Rochdale Borough. Toni’s role at Rochdale Council was to initially support the RP agenda linking in with schools, teachers, employers, parents and Greater Manchester and National partners to ensure Rochdale was at the forefront of this agenda. Since 2016 the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy has meant a change of focus to ensure Rochdale Council maximises the benefits afforded by the funding. This includes leading on the Rochdale Council Apprenticeship Programme which recently won ‘Macro Employer of the Year’ and ‘Recruitment Excellence’ awards at the North West Apprenticeship Awards. Work around the Borough with partners, providers, employers and other agencies is also undertaken to ensure Rochdale maximises the Apprenticeship Levy. Toni has been on the Governing board of a local charity and regularly undertakes reparation based work youth offenders in giving back to the community.
